On the one hand, Trump wants more Americans working, to help the economy.

On the other hand, Trump is trying to bolster AI, to compete with China for world dominance, something that will shrink the job market of Americans over the next decade considerably.

This whole notion of AI making it so that people do not have to work is a real head scratcher to me.

It really makes no sense and will destroy the country as it has always been every Left-wing loons dream that the majority of the masses don't have jobs, and therefore, are completely dependent on the circus in DC.

Then there is the censorship of AI that increases daily. Again, this is a Left wing wet dream.

And lastly, AI has become the Lefts new "Snopes.com", because whatever AI says is the gospel truth, don't ya know. Just ignore the man behind the curtain while you surrender you intellect to AI cuz it is sooooo much smarter than you.

Still gonna need linemen, plumbers, electricians, welders, fabricators, lumbermen, no matter how many liberal arts and stem graduates the university systems crank out.
That can't be the career for everyone. Also, no one talks about what AI wll do for women employment. They aren't working on oil rigs or in the mines.

Its not just AI, its also AI+Quantum Computing, a new super-fast computer system.

You may not know, but AI has been found to be very devious.

Definitely not trustworthy. AI could end up very badly for humanity.

Matrix, Eagle-Eye, Terminator, and other scary movies are just a start.

Yes. The idea of a more equitable wealth distribution is completely alien to MAGA minds after a lifetime of swallowing rugged individualism propaganda. Where the most rugged individuals are propped up by government subsidies.

Lol, now in a centrally planned command economy. What a hoot.

Oh well.

Odd, when were were putting food on the table by gun and fishing rod the .gov was a hinderance to that end.

Equitable wealth distribution code for stealing from the productive and rewarding the indolent at the point of a government gun.

Trump's job was made a lot harder by the asshole Democrats who flooded our country with 20 million unscreened, uneducated, unneeded and soon to be unemployable illegal aliens. If somebody wanted to sabotage this country, they'd do exactly what the Democrats did under Biden. So, to start to fix the problem, Trump is rightfully deporting all the illegal alien dead wood. MAGA

You missed the part where among those 12,000,000 illegals were 166,000 Chinese, 125,000 Russians, 400,000 convicted criminals, and hundreds of terrorists, including ISIS. A national security disaster by any metric.

Amazon is in the process of getting rid of about 600 thousand jobs, thanks to robotics and AI.

Not only is AI taking our jobs, they take a great deal of our electricity and water to function.

And guess what, politicians value AI more than us.

Now what?

Politicians always value money more than the people they are supposed to serve, at least in this country. Amazon, like all corporate America, has way too many doing nothing middle managers.

On Wednesday, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei declared AI could eliminate half of all entry level white collar jobs within five years. Last week, a senior LinkedIn executive reported that AI is already starting to take jobs from new grads. In April, Fiverr’s CEO made it clear: ā€œAI is coming for your job. Heck, it’s coming for my job too.ā€ Even the new Pope is warning about AI’s dramatic potential to reshape our economy.

Why do they think this?

The stated goal of the major AI companies is to build artificial general intelligence, or AGI, defined as ā€œa highly autonomous system that outperforms humans at most economically valuable work.ā€

This isn’t empty rhetoric—companies are spending over a trillion dollars to build towards AGI. And governments around the world are supporting the race to develop this technology.

They’re on track to succeed. Today’s AI models can score as well as humans on many standardized tests. They are better competitive programmers than most programming professionals. They beat everyone except the top experts in science questions.

As a result, AI industry leaders believe they could achieve AGI sometime between 2026 and 2035.

Among insiders at the top AI companies, it’s the near-consensus opinion that the day of most people’s technological unemployment, where they lose their jobs to AI, will arrive soon. AGI is coming for every part of the labor market. It will hit white collar workplaces first, and soon after will reach blue collar workplaces as robotics advances.

In the post-AGI world, an AI can likely do your work better and cheaper than you. While training a frontier AI model is expensive, running additional copies of it is cheap, and the associated costs are rapidly getting cheaper.

A commonly proposed solution for an impending era of technological unemployment is government-granted universal basic income (UBI). But this could dramatically change how citizens participate in society because work is most people’s primary bargaining chip. Our modern world is upheld with a simple exchange: you work for someone with money to pay you, because you have time or skills that they don’t have.

The economy depends on workers’ skills, judgment, and consumption. As such, workers have historically bargained for higher wages and 40-hour work weeks because the economy depends on them.

With AGI, we are posed to change, if not entirely sever, that relationship. For the first time in human history, capital might fully substitute for labor. If this happens, workers won’t be necessary for the creation of value because machines will do it better and cheaper. As a result, your company won’t need you to increase their profits and your government won’t need you for their tax revenue.

I would go a step farther by saying that human beings are the competitor of AI for electricity and water, thus the human race must be dealt with to protect their precious AI.

Wow, this makes Revelation look like a walk in the park.
