Trump is gutting the nation's environmental programs. Here's what it will cost Americans
The president's environmental actions will significantly increase the cost of living for millions of people and bring about hundreds of thousands of premature deaths.

- The EPA’s plan to roll back regulations and cut climate programs will increase the cost of living for millions of people and bring about hundreds of thousands of premature deaths
- Repealing key protections could erase $254 billion in annual benefits for public health and the environment, compared with $39 billion in savings for regulated industries
- Looser rules around air and water quality could also lead to worsening asthma attacks, increased ER visits and other adverse health outcomes
Two new reports from environmental watchdog groups outline how the administration’s recent regulatory rollbacks, cuts to climate programs and promotion of fossil fuel production will significantly increase the cost of living for millions of people and bring about hundreds of thousands of premature deaths.

Indeed, the nation’s top environmental agency has been mired in a flurry of activity in recent weeks as the administration delivers blow after blow to its programs: canceling grant funds, shuttering offices, laying off workers and targeting projects geared toward air and water quality, electric vehicle infrastructure and curbing planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions.

“This is an all-out assault on public health,” Symons said. He noted that the calculations are based on the EPA’s own data for each of the rules at stake.Indeed, the nation’s top environmental agency has been mired in a flurry of activity in recent weeks as the administration delivers blow after blow to its programs: canceling grant funds, shuttering offices, laying off workers and targeting projects geared toward air and water quality, electric vehicle infrastructure and curbing planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions.

Some of the greatest harm will come from reducing efforts to maintain safe air quality, such as rolling back standards for smog, soot, mercury and other harmful pollutants, according to a separate report released this week by the progressive public policy research group the Center for American Progress.

As Rush used to say... "What a bunch of Bovine Scatology"...
This is coming from Hayley Smith in Sunny Communist California, that has been the root cause of annual fires and supposed droughts throughout the state for decades including SMOG and air quality.
Great strides were made during the 1980's thru 1990's in Air Quality, and all around environmental safety of America, yet were never fully implemented with that specific State.
What is the efficacy of these supposed climate programs? “What will the benefit be to Americans and how much money will it save?”.
Thanks to the programs like closing burning garbage in incinerators, reducing CFC;s in the air, and dumping in the ocean and regulating landfills. Unfortunately it appears that recycling has not increased throughout the year.
Why because, the so called environmentalists concentrated on Climate Change, Carbon footprint, and so called imperiled fish, and not the true environment itself. Biden increased America’s carbon footprint by 50 million foreign freeloaders. He wasn’t worried about any “Climate Change”.
Rather than regulating separation of garbage at individual homes sites live garbage intermingled with recyclable materials.
These are the same that claimed puddles of rain on your property came under environmental regulations.

California has some of the worst air quality in the country. The problem is rooted in the San Joaquin Valley
The ongoing effects of climate change have left much of the West to suffer from worsening air quality in recent years. But in places like California's San Joaquin Valley, home to productions of oil, agriculture and warehouses, this has been the case for decades.

How America’s Recycling Program Failed—and Scarred the Environment
It’s almost too hard to believe. All that washing, rinsing, and packaging of recyclables Americans were doing for decades—and much of it was simply being thrown into the water, polluting our rivers and oceans. How did it happen?
