Self-taught venom expert Tim Friede has voluntarily injected himself with snake venom 856 times across 18 years. Now, in spite of the odds, Friede's extremely dangerous hobby has led scientists to create the most widely effective snake antivenom on record. After 856 'Snake Bites', Man's Blood Could Unlock Universal Antivenom
You may be tough but you'll never be this tough.

In this neck of the woods copperheads are about all you have to worry about and they refuse to give people the antivenom if at all possible because apparently it is worse than the snakebite and by the time they actually get some it won't do you any good. They basically just provide you support treating the venom side effects for a couple days.
