The center of a tornado is very low pressure
. Common sense is that it crushes your house from the outside to the inside due to high winds .
This is false
It blows your house up from the inside to the outside !!
You have thousands of pounds per sq inch of pressure on your inside walls. This is the air inside your house that is trying to move to the low pressure zone of the tornado

And my mom used to open the Windows and doors but very silly . A house cannot equalize with a tornado and the winds will come in and collapse the inside structures

I've flown over the top of tornados before....the sky turns green...don't know why exactly...

I'll never forget the interview with a man and his wife that were watching TV one second and the next they were blowing around their cornfield....

You should run over to Texas and try one out...

When a vehicle is driving down the road, it creates a low pressure zone just behind it.

One morning during a very volent and creepy electrical thunderstorm I saw a tornado in SE Michigan following the speeding van of another cement mason, Rusty, on a curvy road. It looked like the funnel cloud touched down and was trying to draft him like a race car driver.

After that we would jokingly say to stay away from Rusty when there's a thunderstorm because he had been going through a nasty divorce with a spouse that had the temperament of The Tasmanian Devil. And now a tornado was chasing him. Those tornadoes hate him. :auiqs.jpg:
