He was a dangerous man and kudos to the cop who stopped him. But I never feel joy over the fact that someone will have to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. Yes ... he asked for it. But it doesn't leave me feeling elated.

Indeed. I neither celebrate harm done to victim or villain. A darkness has filled the hearts of many today and G-d surely does not approve.
 
I often think the police fire too many rounds to stop the subject, until you realize just how bad their aim can be when they are pumped with adrenaline and trying to hit a moving target.

I agree, and that's a worse outcome for the perp than spending 10 years in prison.

We can discuss that but look at the video closely. The cop didn't stop firing until the bad guy dropped the gun. That's what I call fair dues.
