Fiscal conservatives hated the massive spending and budget trickery. Centrists despised the deep cuts to programs for the poor and elderly. Parochial lawmakers did not realize until the eleventh hour that subsidies for wind and solar energy would hit their states hard, plus an industry-killing hidden tax on those clean-energy sectors seemed to come from nowhere, before getting scrapped. And the pragmatists were watching the GOP’s biggest donor, Elon Musk, threaten everyone who voted for it with a primary challenge and throwing his money toward a new third party. (True to form, Trump on Tuesday threatened to deport the South African-born American citizen for his disloyalty.)

The bullied enablers who inflicted the blowhard's 'big beautiful bill' on Americans will suffer.

Amidst the economic and inflationary consequences of his erratic tariffmania, for any running, Trump will be one heavy pantload for GOP candidates.

people can have different opinions.

If anyone is intellectually impotent and incapable of challenging the documented information in my posts by citing conflicting data, he can always just click on 'Fake News.'

Many are right. Some are wrong.

I've yet to see any reports of Republican reps complicit in the 'big, beautiful bill' being celebrated with standing ovations at town halls.
More like even steven on the number of people being right/wrong.

as for the number of protestors at town halls, how is the split there? more dems than pubs? vice versa?

If possible, I won't get within a mile of a town hall meeting.

too many nutcases.

I assume that you don't have any conflicting data, that you just don't like what has been documented.

Meanwhile, the Trump pantload stress continues to worsen:

A few take aways. The "Big Beautiful Bill" is trash. It fell far short of promises, not to mention the irony of a party that has claimed the torch of small government would brag about a passing a bill they admit is big.

As far as the town halls go, yes, Trump's popularity, as well as that of the Republican Party, as fallen, but just because a bunch of Democrats show up at Republican townhalls and cause a raucous doesn't mean as much as you think it does. Republicans have done this same thing in the past with Democrats and with all the gerrymandering by both parties, very few House elections are even competitive anymore.

You could see it from the moment Trump chose Vance as his running mate. The Republicans, well, no, not really many Republicans left. The Trumptards, they have overplayed their hand. I mean we have not even began to feel the effects of the "Big Beautiful Bill". Beautiful to who? Not you and I.

I mean we are going to see a mid-term that will completely change the dynamics of American politics forever. Trump has always been a wantabe, a wantabe rich person. His wealth is nothing compared to the truly wealthy. He is dumber than a box of rocks. How he cow ties to the very wealthy is sickening to watch. I mean I will give it to the Trumpbots, they are trying. Texas, Abbot, the whole redistricting thing. It is going to turn out no different than when the anti-federalist tried to redistrict Madison out of office. He won anyway. Suppressing the vote, purging voter rolls. You don't think the people don't see that?

Inflation, the tariffs, they are just beginning to heat up. But even at the moment, they are costing the average household in this country two hundred bucks a month. It is going to be a sad holiday season. The worst in a generation. And even at that, it is going to be just the beginning. Millions of Americans will be looking at health insurance premiums doubling, even tripling. Many will choose to do without.

The Medicaid cuts, you think they only affect the poor? No, have a disabled child, suddenly losing that Medicaid coverage, it is going to have a real impact on real people. Then tax season rolls around. No taxes on tips, the woman that struggles to survive working at the local diner, she finds out she still has to pay taxes on tips over twenty five grand, she is going to be pissed. She is going to feel she was lied to. The retirees collecting Social Security, they get their measly deduction, still have to pay taxes on some of their Social Security, lied to. Plain and simple.

You can fool all of the people some of the time. And you can fool some of the people all of the time. But you can't fool all the people all the time. Evidently, that is what the Trump administration and the Heritage Foundation believes, you can fool all the people all the time.

Utility bills, oh man, get ready, grease up that ass because you are about to get fucked. I mean there is a saying in business and it always holds true. Under promise and over deliver. Trump over promises and fails to deliver at all. That will inevitable come back and bite him, and all those that bow down to him, in the ass. The chickens will eventually come home to roost. It will not be pretty.

I mean I already see it. This weekend, driving home from work, I saw protesters in two different places with signs like, Impeach Trump". In this district, that is unheard of. Never seen it before. The people are waking up. And it is no different than what I face at work. Actions affect real people. Trump's actions affect real people. He has no clue.

Last I heard Town Halls were open to ALL CONSTIUTENTS.

I have no data regarding the party affiliation of voters that have caused the GOP to recommend that its elected representatives hide from their constituents, but many Republicans are angry.

I have no doubt there are unhappy Republicans. I just wouldn't put too much salt into these rabble rousers showing up at these events. I'll guarantee you there's some coordination going on by party activists. Both sides have done this.

It was none other than Little Mickey of the Small Johnson who called on Republicans to avoid Town Hall Meetings. The Big Ugly Bill has blown up in their face.

With all due respect. You cannot blame just the Democrats for the Big Ugly Bill blowing in Republican's faces. They brought this on themselves. But to say Democrats are blame is a lie. Republicans were warned and they ignored the warnings, this is on them. Town Hall are open to all Constituents.

You should remember that Rao Kanna (D-CA) and other Democrats are holding Town Halls in very deep red districts across the country and are getting huge crowds. Both Republicans and Democrats are righteously pissed over this bill. Disable individuals are losing their health care, including infants and children whose access to health care is Medicare. Deep cuts to WIC and SNAP will effect many children. The Right To Life people a lot of explaining to do.

I have seen nothing to suggest that Republican constituents are not expressing their anger with their Republican representatives at town hall meetings.

both (R)s & (D)s showing up are also demanding that the epstein files be released. perhaps sex trafficking - & those guilty of it - is a line most people won't cross.

On the other hand, maybe, Trump and Vance dealt quietly with all their Black immigrants eating pet cats and dogs in Springfield OH.
