The United States had the largest trade deficit in the world by far, China, Germany, Russia highest surpluses

Somebody want to tell me why a bad balance of trade deficit is such a bad thing? So what if I can buy a shirt or shoes made overseas somewhere cheaper than I can a domestic made product? The rich guys don't much care, but families at or below the poverty line sure as hell do. Does everyone realize who ends up paying for a tariff? Does everyone realize that when you levy a tariff on foreign products/materials that there is usually a consequence (retaliation) in a different industry?

Businesses everywhere hate chaos and confusion. They make decisions based on future projections of supply and demand, and Trump comes along with his tariffs and ***** it all up. So, what do they do then? Who is going to invest a ton of money on new businesses and expansion if the future is unclear? What does that do to economic growth? How many jobs will be lost and even worse is how many jobs would have been created but won't? Why? Cuz nobody knows WTF is going to happen over the next 4 years.
