The technical term is "chirality", which basically means handedness. Proteins and DNA curl up in a certain way, that's either left handed or right handed. The bad guys, are creating the opposite handedness.

Most of the time, opposite handed molecules are ineffective, because they have a different shape. The proteins, for example, fold in a different way.

Sometimes though, there are advantages, especially for medical treatments.

But the good guys think this research is dangerous, and they want to stop the bad guys from doing it.

All the recent genetic advances are Chinese.

While Bill Gates tests vaccines in India and Africa, the Chinese are splicing human DNA into monkey brains and vice versa.
