The Reformation

Was essentially the politico-religious equivalent of the looting after Hurricane Katrina in N.O., only much longer and much bloodier. The thin veneer of civilization in Europe slipped off like an ill-fitting robe.

Some folks today are calling for a 'reformation' in Islam. If so, I would hope it goes a hell of a lot more smoothly and peacefully.

Revolutions of any sort tend to be very messy affairs.
