i invest in the stock market. one thing i research as "due diligence" is the biography and reputation of the management team.

if i thought "running government like a business" were a good idea (i don't) do you think this is the ceo i'd choose?

Yep, if running government was like a business, Trump would be the last CEO any sane person should want to hire.

probably not, but our part y is not short of competent public sector managers who probably won't spend a 7trillion dollar deficit., or refuse to allow audits.

If we're going to run the nation like a business then people may have to unionize.

IF running a business was like running the government, then it would be easy.

Anybody can start a business, anybody can't run a government agency.

Actually they are. Because they ARE businesses.
no they are not...i worked in the only one that was an actual business selling things....and they were not run like a business....so i seriously doubt if any of the other ones were....

"...no govt agency is run like a business....

Nor should they be. Their respective missions aim for two different achievements.
Capitalist businesses are formed in order to achieve profits...to 'make money'.
Our governments at all levels --- city, township, county, state, feds ---- are formed to provide services to the electorate. So, it is Profits vs. Service. What could go wrong?

Yes they are a business. And they are run like businsses. They provide services. They created and manage budgets, they manage money, they must show results, everything a businsess must do, they must do. And given the failure of the past 2 "businsessmen" Trump and Bush 2, talking about government being ran like a private business is stupid.
