Palestinian civilians in Gaza have gone through enough hardship since the beginning of the Gazan war their hell needs to be stopped. Now the Israeli government is giving an undue hard time to "aid groups" working in Gaza it seems like they are trying to extinguish their work in Gaza! The aid groups in question are not small time operators with a short record the Israeli government is hassling these are reputable organizations that are being targeted: Doctors Without Borders, Oxfam, Save The Children, etc.. The Israeli government is requiring all aid groups to provide the identity of all their staff and get certified to work in Gaza and there is this silence test about the Israeli government's wrongdoings during the war that is required and a black box quality about what is needed to get an approval to operate; examples nothing perceived to delegitimatizing the State of Israel, whatever that means, no support for prosecution of Israel security personnel (even though some of those officials, after the two plus months blockade of food into Gaza, the way they positioned IDF forces and controlled the conduct of those forces so as to not prevent the shooting and killing of Palestinian civilians approaching their lines only seeking to get food for them and their families who were starving)!
The Israeli government has a legitimate demand in knowing who the staff of these aid groups are to insure none of their personnel are members or agents of a terrorist group. But the way the Israeli government is doing it is wrong and unfair it shouldn't have the Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Anti-Semitism processing these Aid Group Applications and deciding the question whether or not to grant certification for this is a political organization it is tied to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his far right allies that are against a two state solution and if they had their druthers would ethnic cleanse all Palestinians from the land metaphorically described as the land from the river to the sea. The Israel government should establish a division in the Israel Population and Immigration authority to process and handle the Aid group's application they surely are adept at vetting security risk individuals from coming into Israel. This division should be prohibited from providing the identity of these Aid Group personnel to Israel spy agencies to stop these agencies from having a list of people they can pressure and their family members they can pressure to become agents for these Spy agencies! The Israel government should set-up a fair appeals process where if this Division labels a specific aid staff member as a terrorist or an agent for a terrorist organization the aid group can make the case the Division made an error in the instant case. The Israel government should make clear, fair and non-political standards, not nebulous ones, for aid groups to receive certification one cannot and should not expect these Aid Groups to stop standing up for human rights in order to get this certification!
Members of Congress in the government funding bills that will be needed to fund the government after January 31, 2026 if foreign aid is one of the bills that will need passage should use this leverage to get the Israel government to act fair here. Condition some of the foreign aid to Israel on the Israeli government having a fair and good process in approving Aid Groups applications to operate in Gaza!
