The late '60s Janis peer; Grace Slick was the other famous screaming female rocker. Who's actually alive and kicking to this day. Their stylistic difference is that clearly, Grace did a lot more LSD than Janis. With the strange, otherworldly places her singing goes.

Here's the really tripped-out song in which Grace howls the roof off!

Another acid-tripped-out song in which Grace liked to shift around musical gears. This was the Jefferson Airplane album in which she did both the vocals and piano.

Compared to your scream
The human dream
Doesn't mean shit to a tree

Another good example

Jefferson Airplane- Greasy Heart

Ah yes, I remember this one. I liked the way Grace Slick could hold a singing note so long, it's like her lungs were big enough to pressurize a 747.

Grace Slick with Jefferson Starship in the mid-'70s.

Since Grace Slick was credited with both vocals and piano on this album, I assume the very long, playful piano work at the end was her doing.
