It is pretty funny. Brian Kelly, head coach of LSU, has yet to really "get it going" by historical standards, LSU's historical standards. He lost twice opening up to the CrimiNoles. LSU has already lost to Ole Miss this year.

But in the SEC, there is one specific thing that is the the most popular "catalyst" for getting coaches fired = LOSING to VANDY

LSU has the longest streak against Vandy from the original SEC (not the Big 12 transfers), dating back to the 1970s. LSU expects to beat Vandy, period. LSU has 5 and 4 stars, and Vandy is mostly 3 stars and transfers.

But amazingly, Vandy as of last night was favored by 1.5 points. You read that right, Vandy is favored to beat LSU this Saturday in football...

John mcenroe you cannot be serious wimbledon - opsdax

Saturday, noon ET, ABC, the Brian Kelly Bowl, because if Vandy wins, Brian Kelly is GONE as LSU HC...

The whole increase in transfers and NIL has turned a lot upside down. The parity stuff was bad enough, but trying to keep track of these players is ridiculous. otoh, every once in a awhile, a lousy team stuns a top team. That has been around a long long time.

Vandy is not a "lousy team" this year, they are 5-1 with one loss at Bama and ranked 17 in AP poll.

I’ll cheer for Vandy this week

But later in the season my team has to play Vanderbilt so my support is limited

because their 3-stars do play hard

Brian Kelly is a born underachiever

He dumped Notre Dame and the Irish improved under the next coach

I suspect the same is true at LSU

No doubt that if LSU gets its second SEC loss this Saturday to Vandy, Brain Kelly is OUT...

Could be

LSU fires head coaches for just winning ONLY ONE national championship instead of two

It's a new game now with legal payments to players. Brian Kelly is finished either way. LSU won't have the payroll of USC, Ohio St. ND, MICH now have money like ALA paid out over decades (in violation, in secret).

Vanderbilt has Nashville money perhaps. It's uncontrolled mayhem now. ORE has Nike money. ASU is booming.

Vandy recruiting still sucks. We've got like 1-2 four stars each class including the last few, like half of the next lowest SEC team. Bama gets twice as many 5 stars as Vandy gets 4 stars. The "solution" to "getting around academic standards" is the transfer portal, and Vandy is gaming the shit out of it. The SEC used to be one college football team, Vandy, and "pro football teams disguised as schools." That discrepancy likely has faded a bit. IT is just "academic," to win SEC games...

YOU CANNOT HAVE RIGID HIGH ACADEMIC STANDARDS

because if you do, you end up like Vandy 2-5 years ago...

Academics is out the window now I thought? It is full blown minor league paid football. If you dont go to class, no one cares. If the care? You just transfer out. No more sitting out 1 year.

Demon took 90 players with him to COL or so I heard.

It varies considerably. The Wonderlic Test used to expose the teams with no standards, but Vince Young whined when his pathetic score of 6 leaked out, so they banned the test. Teams with no academic standards for football prior to 2006...

Cokes
CrimiNoles
Gators
LSU
Dexter Manley University
PacManU
Tennessee
Onor Ull
Chickens
Somewhere
Arizona State

Georgia had some academic standards under Mark Richt, and those were tossed right out the window by Kirby Smart. They would likely bomb the shit out of the Wonderlic Test if we brought it back, and get crowned as "College Football's Dumbest Team."

MO VANDY Ole' Miss on the way up. ALA LSU GA now has competition year round.

Did you see TENN throw ridiculous 99 you pick 6? It was obvious they had to pass. No time outs. CB sits on it like a Lion. Picks it off untouched. So simple. Full speed to end zone.

I would fire TENN coach right after. They also blew GA & ALA games they could have won?

That was a great example of "take what you can get before halftime and don't do anything really stupid."

Wow, did that blow up in their face.

Don't know if the Vols fire Josh H after that. Now, if they lose their final regular season game....

LOL!!!

LSU has plenty of money

They just cant seem to find the right coach

Clearly Brian Kelly needs to go

But they just took a bath getting rid of the last coach

I agree and I think he is gone. LSU Athletic Dept is saying

OK, we need some DONATIONS to fire him... like RIGHT NOW...

and then the inevitable happened...
