A Dallas County resident is suing for $1 million in damages after a man keyed his Tesla while it was parked at DFW International Airport.

Jeff Nguyen first posted about the vandalism on Facebook on March 16 and spoke with CBS News last week in an effort to identify the perpetrator.

According to a lawsuit filed in Tarrant County District Court on Tuesday, the Tesla owner, identified as “J.N.” in the suit, parked his 2022 Tesla Model X at DFW Airport on March 13. When he returned to the car three days later, he noticed a “deep engraving or indentation” on the passenger side of the vehicle, according to the suit.

Pictures of the damage were redacted from DFW Airport police’s incident report.

The deep staters think these anti tesla violence and well financed and organized protests are good for their side. I think not as they are burning their own bridges for the 2026 mid terms. Everything they champion and stand for is unpopular with the public.

And don't think the guy charged might only have $20 to his name....The guy who keyed the Cybertruck in NH is a senior sales exec for an IT company.....I hope he has to pay-up in civil court too.

Maybe suits need to be filed against people who are promoting this type of behavior for inciting criminal acts. I would dearly love to see some of our leftist representatives who have promoted this behavior have their ill gotten bank accounts attached.

I bet he doesn't get it. The average 2022 Tesla Model X may have sold for near $100,000 give or take, but has depreciated 55% losing $64,245 Dollars in 3 years.

I think you are missing the point.....It's the suit itself, not the end result.

Hit those leftist shitbags in the wallet paying for lawyers to defend their actions.

That said I would have waited till he plead-out guility to a reduced charge then served him with the suit.

I bet the key scratch can be fixed for a few hundred dollars. I don't see how he expects the court to accept a lawsuit for a million.

If you aren't going to get the money, it is just an advertising stunt for the one launching the lawsuit. They won't even consider the car totalled. Foolish lawsuits that don't get any where near original value, much less some pie in the sky, (I'll show them number) don't his libs or anybody else in the wallet, other than actual damages.

Criminals get paid for breaking the law all the time after some minor LEO slip-up......Why shouldn't a victim get paid?

Oh, don't get me wrong. I wish him all the luck in the world, as any a-hole that would key a guy's car is dickless sonovabitch, truly deserving the removal of his testicles so he cannot pollute or continue to pollute the gene pool, as a tribute to Charles Darwin.

I simply do not think a jury can be persuaded to make such an award. A buck gets you ten, the perp uses a public defender on the action criminal complaint, due to being poor, dumb, and lacking financial resourses to defend himself. So, asking for 10 times the amount paid for the 2-3 year old car, is simply a waste of money, and he will only end up paying his lawyer for wasted effort to make this public political statement. Or it could be he is a lawyer himself, representing himself probonehead.

Don’t forget punitive damages. We need to teach these violent leftists that damaging people’s property because you don’t like the politics of the man who produced the property is criminal.

Lisa, you can't get blood out of a turnip. People that key cars are not well financed, people of much property. They are usually poor, dumb, broke young assholes. If you get 100% of what they have and actually own, you probably get 100% of nothing, and your lawyer will still expect you to pay for the time it cost to represent you. I understand, and all, but I just don't support losing propositions.

In addition to mental and emotional distress of being targeted for a clear hate crime.

That kind of damage generally runs between 4 and $5,000.... You can't just repair the scratch you have to do the entire side

Well, yeah, I know, but it also really depends on what level quality you really want to do. You can repair just the scratch, but it is really hard to blend it and after several years, the edge of the paint begins to lift.

LOL, reminds me of the old Deloreans--brushed stainless steel. If you damaged that finish, good luck on matching the pattern.
