Will they be successful? Both Russian and coalition jets are about to support them.

"The U.S. backed “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) – alongside the People’s Protection Units (YPG) – have launched a fresh offensive in the Al-Raqqa Governorate’s western countryside to capture the Tishreen Dam that separates the aforementioned province and the Aleppo Governorate.

The primary objective for the Syrian Democratic Forces and the People’s Protection Units might be to capture the Tishreen Dam; however, the short-term objective is to seize the town of Sarrin in the Al-Raqqa Governorate’s northwestern countryside.

Assisting the YPG and SDF from the air will be the Russian and U.S. Air Forces that are searching for any convoys or military movements from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) near the village of Sarrin, the Tishreen Dam, and the ISIS stronghold of Menbeij.

If the Syrian Democratic Forces capture Sarrin and the Tishreen Dam, they will be in positions to strike the ISIS stronghold of Menbeij in eastern Aleppo, marking the first time in nearly two years that this city has come under attack from any military force.

Currently, ISIS is feeling the heat on several fronts, including the eastern Aleppo countryside, where the Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” are currently pushing their way to the other ISIS stronghold of Deir Hafer."

If the Russians can be refrained from bombing and killing the enemies of ISIS, this might work out.

When the U.S. bombed the Syrian Arab Army.
There is one bombing allegation on record and it has been denied by all coalition forces, including the US. The Russians were conducting daily bombing missions in that area. What evidence do you have that the US was responsible for the air strike in question? I know the answer, it is none.

The US only said, the Syrian army were not targeted intentionally.

Here, however, is how the Coalition uses ISIS against Syria:
