Whether they can persuade Erdogan to look the other way while the terrorists are literally obliterated .

Americans fundamentally do not understand the history of Syria. It is composed of the fragmented rival groups that did not fit into the fabric of any of the other nations when the Ottoman Empire was being carved up. It was an absolute mess before Assad's father began to rule it with an iron fist in a velvet glove and it appears that it will be that mess again because of this. So yay the Jewish state can claim they defeated something, but tomorrow, well, they have unleashed a dozen worse groups.
