I've had goats soup, lamb hearts, and God knows what in Dominican Republic sausages, but a paw... I suppose it's just meat and fat, has anyone in the US tried it?

Once you seen the paw, you can't unseen it.

I've killed quite a few black bear in my time and I've tried to eat it 101 different ways that folks would cook it and the most palatable way was a haunch a friend had smoked.

He removed all the fat between the muscles and replaced it with fatback, put it in a string bag and smoked it till done. I actually made it through two slices before it caught up with me.

I was lucky because I always had someone to give the bear I killed to.....I kept the claws and skull.

LOL......A farmer killed a big (600#) bore bear that was raiding his pigs. He called my dad to cape it out for him. and I went along.

Dad asked what he was going to do with the meat and he said feed it to his coon dogs.....Time passed.....We saw him again and asked him if the dogs ate the meat......He said they pushed the pan into the corner of their kennel and growled at it.

Other than caron worms nothing eats a dead bear in the wild.....Not even crows or buzzards.....It just sorta melts into the ground.
