A remake of Superfly comes out tomorrow.
I'm not sure how I feel about that. Some movies are so much a part of our culture, they should be "retired" like an athlete's number.
Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Shaft, Superfly, Saturday Night Fever...
I loved blacksploitation movies when I was a kid. I know that's a weird thing for a white guy to say, but there it is. I actually have a collection of some of them on DVD at home. I paid a pretty penny for some of them.
*sigh*
I guess I'll have to see the remake. Gonna have to make time sometime in the next couple weeks.
They better not have fucked it up.
