Rubio was a good choice for SOS. He knows why communism is such an evil system.

We have communism lights thanks to the Creepy Ones who have destroyed so many of our lives. Rubio and Trump don't want such weirdos in America for good reason.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced Wednesday the U.S. will begin "aggressively" revoking visas of Chinese students.

"Under President Donald Trump’s leadership, the U.S. State Department will work with the Department of Homeland Security to aggressively revoke visas for Chinese students, including those with connections to the Chinese Communist Party or studying in critical fields," Rubio wrote in a statement.

The State Department will also revise visa criteria to enhance scrutiny of all future visa applications from the People’s Republic of China and Hong Kong.

In March, House Republicans introduced the Stop Chinese Communist Prying by Vindicating Intellectual Safeguards in Academia Act, also known as the Stop CCP VISAs Act.

Back to 1954 just like that eh?

This is one of those inevitable mistakes...that historians will look back on, and cite.

China will retaliate--China tends to see itself as a closed society anyway--and they would see taking this without a response as a loss of 'face'.

Maybe they go at Taiwan some...or prod North Korea into some foolishness.

Maybe they just trip one of the traps they have laid in our nation...cyber-wise.

But something stupid...that could have been avoided..but wasn't.

The CCP approves of your post.

I don't give a shit, idiot....you're still fighting the battles of last century....attacking an ideology, instead of attacking the real problem.

I do not give a shit what ideology China chooses....that's not really what's this is all about anyway.

It's the Red Menace--rolled into anti-Asian racism...warmed over from the mid-20th century and served hot and steaming.

Like a big dog turd in the living room.

Could be time to put the dog down..he starts doing that~

Edit: Actually I thought we did that once already, didn't we?

As a nation, we seem to have a strong streak of stupid built into the system.

Chinese theft of our technology and our resources is real.

So is Chinese expansionism.

So are the ongoing threats to our Asian allies.

Told ya, we're eventually going to have to deal with all this.

Better late than never.

All of you say is true...but this is exactly the wrong way to do it.
American expansionism poses some dangers as well..in this scenario.

NPR did a piece on this today. Oddly, they omitted the part about these Chinese students all being required by their government to report anything they see or hear, and that fully 10% of these Chinese students are actual spies. Instead, all NPR was lament that these hardworking foreigns won't be here to start businesses and teach grad classes.

Yes. Losing "student" spies will make China really angry. Like we should give a flip.

Why?

What do you propose?
Directly attack them in the Shadow-world they play in. Attack their AI's...infect their infrastructure..as they are constant attempting to do with us.

Economically dominate their local markets as much as possible..drive them out of the Asian Co-prosperity Sphere--to coin a phrase...LOL.

Directly compete with them in Africa...getting rid of USAID was a mistake in that regard..or at least just hacking away at it...we lost a lot of good will in Africa, in the last few month..who do you think is picking up the slack?

But I would not ban their students..I'd seduce them with our system....it works..a lot of times.

Who do they report to? Fu Manchu?

Totally irrelevant.

try again.
Not to be rude, but I get the feeling too many Americans are naive about what war is being waged. I give MSS great credit for their ability to influence so many institutions and politicians in the West.
