True for a fact. He is not the only TV reality star about guns who is like you say.
Richard Wyatt also went to prison over his gun show program that was fun to watch at the time.

Wyatt's shop was almost directly across the street from where I lived in Wheat Ridge, CO. I had been in his shop on several occasions and dealt with him personally. I purchased two guns and one switchblade knife from that store and had them refurbish an old WWII gun my dad passed down to me.
Wyatt seemed a bit condescending when I dealt with him. I did like his show and his daughter was an amazing work of art but Wyatt did push the limits of the law.
At the time, switchblade knives were illegal in the state of Colorado. As I was admiring a Protech Godfather he had behind the counter,
I said something like "I'd sure like to own something like that."
Wyatt said, "then why don't you buy it."
I said, "because they're illegal."
He said, "not if you are a dealer."
I said, "I'm not a dealer."
He said, "have you ever sold a knife before?"
I said, "yes."
He said, "then you're a dealer."
So I bought the knife.
I still own the knife but I now live in the red State of Utah where common sense prevails. I was a little nervous owning it in the Communist State of Colorado.
