One of the most tremendous African American wrestlers of his day, King was a former WWWF tag champion with Chief Jay Strongbow. King also reigned as the NWA Alabama state heavyweight champion, truly one of the greats in the squared circle.

Sonny King was a regular in the Florida territory in the ring and as a manager. All participants in ''Pro Rasslin'' during that era had a hard life and had to be tough in and out of the ring to just make a living. I am glad to see he is getting recognition. I am sure it gives some positive feelings to his family.
