Hell yes! Dude saved his fellow soldiers’ lives.

We need more brave souls like this man in this country.

1st I know of.....Why cheapen the SGT's actions?
5 threads would make it better.

I am sure there will be more.

Dude is a straight up hero. I love the Secretary of the Army hugged him.

GOOD STUFF!

Point 1- His rank insignia is Sergeant, not Staff Sergeant.

Point 2 - What the hell happened to shaving/grooming standards since I got out?

But good on him for saving lives.

Glad he was able to stop the shooter from hurting anyone else.

By any measure, heroic.

It is too bad someone didn’t clip the perp.

I hate everyone having to deal with the courts after a mass shooting.

When they off themselves, they are doing the world a favor.

Or, maybe not shoot in the first place.

He may have a shaving profile..

I'm guessing he might have a shaving waiver. Some African Americans in the military have shaving waivers because their faces can have adverse reactions to shaving ("razor bumps").

I thought of that, but usually, those guys don't have long careers.

Then again, given manpower shortages, maybe they have a limited pool to promote.

Frankly, he looked sloppy, and this is the day he's getting a medal!!!

Then again, I remember during the Parade in Washington, where those guys all looked sloppy as well, and I'm wondering what's happening to the military. Not to mention some nut just shot up the place.

We should ban guns from the US Army.

Only solution.
They are.

They're locked up in the Armory 24-7-365. On Base, In Country. Even in Hot Zones the Military often keeps their weapons locked up. Especially the Conventional Units. Army and Marines.

I've heard of instances of conventional units getting over-run before they could get their weapons out of the armory. Very embarrassing

Depends on where they are in a Hot Zone, too. If they're in a City that's been pacified, they'll lock their weapons up sometimes. If they're in the woods, no, of course not.

Also depends on the Commander. Commanders whose Units get overrun befoe they can get to their weapons are virtually always cashiered from the Service.

Anyway, I just don't people thinking that Militry Troops walk around Base with their Wespons. They don't. Ever. Even a personal weapon, a side arm, on Base is frowned upon and usually banned or not welcome.

I'm going back a long way, however. My knowledge is quite date but ar least :dunno:
