An 'assault weapon' ban would not have prevented the Newtown shooting and will not prevent another like it.
A "hi-cap' magazine ban would not have prevented the Newtown shooting and will not prevent another like it.
Universal background checks would not have prevented the Newtown shooting and will not prevent another like it.
Universal gun registration would not have prevented the Newtown shooting and will not prevent another like it.
Universal licensure of gun owners would not have prevented the Newtown shooting and will not prevent another like it.

Given the above - what do you suggest?

Longer sentences for violent criminals and more cops on the streets...that's the best way to address violent crime in general.

If we hope to stop more lunatics before they blow something up, we'll have to make it easier to commit unstable individuals. That won't be easy. The ACLU will be all over any attempts to put crazy people into observation.

The problem with mental health is that it is not really a science. Not enough is known to test properly for it. And I am opposed to just randomly committing people cause you happen to be afraid.

However there are procedures and they should be followed. The problem is they are not. In VA the State had no policy for informing the federal Government of people adjudged to be incompetent. In Newton no system would have prevented him from doing what he did.

Some things just happen and no matter what laws you have it won't be stopped.

Banning guns only effects law abiding citizens, banning magazines only effects law abiding citizens. Criminals and crazies have access through non legal means.

oversized clips do effect lives.

You dont seem to remember the guy who stopped a killer when he tried to reload?

I just proved you dead wrong with facts

Riiiight...because if you ban firearm accessories, the crazies and criminals will begin obeying the law will therefore not possess those accessories. :cuckoo:

more stopping to reload means more times to jump the killer.

Its reality

Someone got into the paint chips this weekend...:eusa_whistle:

Full on meltdown in 3...2...

dear idiot more bullets means more death.

fewer per clip means fewer deaths.

facts are facts

How will your laws stop criminals from obtaining illegal weapons and/or accessories on the black market??

Be specific.
