This movie had moments of brilliance and cinematic artistry , and it worked in fleshing out early 1930s southern life . But it had vast sections of outlandish & over the top reaching to achieve a Horror Footing . The casting & wardrobe and props/ Vehicles & background & locations were top tier . But and this is a BIG BUT it had an almost self destructive lurch into a Woke and outlandish stereotypical train wreck while trying to interject Vampirism and the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan . I ejected with about 4-6 mins left in the Stinker and it was well over 2 hours long .

So we see another white person offended by the true reality of America depicted on film.

As a person who grew up in the Rural South ( Texas ) and who saw in person the Freedom Riders emerge from their Bus while traveling through my Small Town ( 2k Populace ) in the early 1960s I lived in the same situations depicted in this movie and was actually surprised how accurate it was compared to my childhood memories .

Blacks were vampires??

That it has woke, written and directed by a black man, and a mostly black cast is why RT gave it 98%.
98%!!! That is a rating you give Epics! Anyone think this is an epic movie?
They don't even attempt to hide their bias anymore.

I just watched Sinners on Netflix. It was unexpectedly good. Really good.

The music is fantastic. The one scene which interweaved the Mississippi blues to African tribal music to rhythm and blues to present day hip-hop was fascinating and unique.

Even the vampires' music was terrific.

For those trying to read a lot of "wokism" into this movie, you've been poisoned for far too long and are allowing yourselves to be cheated out of enjoying an original and very engaging movie.

Try to have some fun.

They don't sample any of the music in this trailer, which is too bad. The musical numbers are the best part.
