Should this site have a peer shame thread?

I participate in a couple automotive sites, and have stolen memes from other political sites.

One thing I have noticed is that every site except USMB has a locked thread that can only be accessed by Moderation to announce bans and the reasons for them, including those perma banned for site violations.

This does a couple things.
Informs members that they will be publicly called out for violations and acts as a preventive for others to not make the same violations.
It also informs members why a member went missing so we don't assume they died.

We need to bring back shaming, especially for the toxic trolls.

The whole notion of a rule forbidding discussion of bans is stupid and only encourages the spamming and thread derailments.

May I introduce you to The Flame Zone ... where public shaming/trolling happens to be the order of business. Mods don't discuss bans and warnings concerning specific forum members because that isn't what we would want to be known for and also because it's really nobody else's business.

Plus, the member often doesn't get to know themselves !! Lol

Well.....it's not like there is not a TON of other forums where politics are discussed.
It's up to the owner and mods to discuss how people behave and interact and whether the membership retainment rate is high enough.

Meh. That does nothing. The FZ is for members to poke at each other. What I am talking of is a restricted thread limited to only the mods to announce violations.

Bans behind closed doors is what mods would rather be known for?

Sounds pretty Star Chamberish to me.

I have been operating under the assumption that I have no peers, here.

The thought that anybody could think I do has me nonplussed.

Well, how about a Beer thread to celebrate the banned, forgotten, and verboten to talk about?
