Trump's policy last term and I assume will be the same this time is to test DNA of all adults and kids who show up at the border. They found a LOT who claimed to be parents of the kids who were in no way related. And every effort was made to get those kids back to their parents or to a relative.

The Biden Administration's catch and release policy included almost no vetting of those released.
