You can be 17 to join the armed forces and be sent to war -


Yet you're not old enough to vote or buy alcohol.

So the USA sends children to war?

 
Nothing new on young being set to War.

I Completely agree with if they are old enough to go to War they are old enough to drink.

18 year olds shouldn't have unfettered access to booze and the politicians shouldn't have unfettered access to military conflicts. Both are too addictive.

When I joined the army the age to drink and vote was 18.
 
Obviously, one should have to be 21 to join the military

There could be some sort of extended training camp a 17 year old could join in the years before he turns 21, but 21 should be the minimus age to be a full fledged soldier
