All the media criticism of the eight Democrats who voted to move the CR forward to re-open the government and all the Republican mocking of the Democrats for now agreeing to reopen the government why didn't they do this forty days ago what did they get out of this shutdown is plain wrong. These eight re-open the government Democrats did the right thing there is no character flaw in recognizing when the other size has compelling leverage and is beginning to cause intolerable harm; that is acting with wisdom! Hundreds of thousands of federal workers families were going without a pay check and a similar number of federal contract workers families were also experiencing this harm plus SNAP benefits were only going to be funded at sixty-five percent and only for one month more meaning many of the people in this program would begin to go hungry, air flights across the nation's airport were going to be steadily reduced dramatically hurting travel for the nation's all important Thanksgiving holiday. This hardship on ordinary Americans could not be permitted to continue and these virtuous eight Democrat Senators recognized this. When critics criticize these Senators saying what did your Party get out of the shutdown they should say that is the wrong question our reason for not voting to fund the government was legitimate twenty-one million Americans are facing a rise in health insurance premiums next year because of the expiring enhanced premium tax credits that Republicans haven't addressed, the fact that Republicans continued to not negotiate because of their arbitrary rule that they wouldn't negotiate why the government was shutdown was a stain on the Republicans and didn't mean that the Democrat rationale wasn't legitimate!

This writer has said this before but it bears repeating that this is the second humongous mistake that Senator Chuck Schumer made this year the first is voting to move the Republican CR in March and the second failing to move the clean CR at the end of September, the latter not because he did not have justification but because it wasn't wise if he had agreed to keep open the government he and the Democrats could have negotiated to not only fix the expiring ACA enhanced premium tax credits but also the Big Beautiful Bills shortcoming of not providing stable income for rural and poor hospitals. Now the latter problem won't be negotiated on by Republicans the Big Beautiful Bill's five billion dollar fund for rural hospitals will get the country through next year's elections and so we'll address it next year leaving our hospitals in an unstable state and Senator Schumer gave President Trump and the Republicans the opportunity to make their meritless position to give ordinary Americans federal monies and let them negotiate with health insurance companies for health insurance sound like a legitimate and viable option (they are no match to be negotiating with cunning health insurance companies) plus Schumer now has President Trump having staked out a position on the nation's health insurance issue which is to scuttle the ACA and give the subsidies directly to Americans now it will be a thousand times harder to get Trump to move and extend the subsidies. Plus this current CR funds the government through the end of January of 2026 and open enrollment for the ACA ends mid January so most of these twenty-one million American facing sky high premium increases will be forced to choose less coverage health insurance which will be cheaper and at that point at the end of January they will not support the Democrats fighting for extension of the premium tax credits because it is a mute point they were forced to choose less good insurance. Senate Democrats should replace Chuck Schumer as their leader because he just plainly sucks!

Now Democrats should not go with a partisan health care bill to bring up for a vote in mid-December because it will surely fail for the reasons it failed miserably over the past forty days. Majority leader John Thune said there are Republicans willing to negotiate a bipartisan health care bill and I think there are enough Republican Senators that will agree to extend the ACA enhanced tax credits if the Democrats are reasonable and agree to stop the waste and abuse in the system. Senate Democrats need to remember these truths about America's health care system proclaim this message loud and clear to the American people and if God himself was writing a social media posting he would write the following. The ACA is the best designed health care system because the core challenge is what to do with all the people with pre-existing conditions you can either put all these health problem Americans In a separate insurance pool or put them in a pool with healthy people and use the healthy people's premiums to shoulder the cost of the health problem Americans which the ACA does; a separate insurance pool is not a viable option it will be enormously expensive and its costs will grow exponentially and the cost problem will result in insurance plans with poor coverage. The government cannot pit ordinary Americans against health insurance companies the issue of what kind of coverage is needed is too complex and the insurance companies are too driven by greed they will sell too many Americans lousy insurance so when these American get sick their insurance will not pay for the health care services they need to get well. In the ACA health insurance companies aren't able to scheme to manipulate premiums from Americans to maximize profits, in the ACA health insurance companies are actually only paid an administrative fee and it is capped at fifteen percent of premiums, ACA health insurance premiums rise because of the medical claims cost that beneficiaries are incurring are rising to reiterate the point in the ACA the health insurance companies are not the villains and can never be the villains because of the caps on their income!

Senate Democrats Do Not Do Not Do Not rely or give control of this negotiation to Senator Chuck Schumer if you do it will absolutely definitely fail this guy only cares about looking good and not doing good, do what Senators have done in the past and pick three four or five Senators and let them negotiate on your behalf. Democrats should also remember about President Trump that he is politically astute Americans have a long track record of caring about and voting on health care and if President Trump doesn't extend the enhanced premium tax credit Republicans will lose seats over it in the mid-terms next year and if Democrats win the House next year President Trump will certainly be impeached on government corruption and extortion grounds and Senate Republicans will not shield him enough of them will follow and respect the law and vote for impeachment! This concern will move President Trump to sign a reasonable extension bill!

My disgust of Senators and A Senate of egos who think they are more important than the American people who pay their f'ing salaries INCREASED. They are lucky they are not FIRED!

They rebelled against Schumer, a good sign.

Schumer just wanted the shutdown to continue until 2028.
