Senate Democrats on Thursday defeated a motion to proceed to a House-passed bill to reopen the Department of Homeland Security and end the 27-day shutdown that has crippled the functions of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and other critical agencies.

The motion failed by a vote of 51 to 46. Centrist Sen. John Fetterman (Pa.) was the only Democrat to vote with Republicans to advance the funding bill.

It marked the fourth time since Feb. 12 that Democrats have voted to block Homeland Security funding legislation.

Really? Three terrorist attacks (Virginia, MI, and NYC) in the CONUS in almost as many days and they still are refusing funding DHS?

What on earth is wrong with the dems (besides Fetterman)? Why do they hate the country so much?

I was watching the "local" news out of DC yesterday and it showed TSA employees lined-up to get donated foodstuffs.

Like most "hands and feet" .gov jobs they don't get paid like the .gov office dwellers.

The department of homeland security sounded like a great idea right after 911, when it was formed, but since they're not operational now, and we don't miss them, should tell you something. Like teats on a boar hog.

Don't you know that the DHS is an umbrella agency or are you just purposely dense?

The same democrats who sent Iran pallets of cash are now trying to aid and abet their terrorists

Democrats = traitors

TSA should strike. That would end this pretty quick.

No one is going to budge and most all of the TSA workers will quit and find real jobs that actually pay money.
