Secret Service begins Joe Biden campaign in Garfield Park in Chicago

In the wake of falling poll numbers for Joe Biden, especially after Donald Trump had been shot, the secret service scheduled first Joe Biden campaign trip to Garfield Park in Chicago this weekend. Things did not go well but could have gone much worse than it did.

"The gunfire is all around us and never stops" said one of Joe Biden's staffers. "Why is it the secret service all have bullet proof vests and we don't? Not even the President has one. And why did we let George Clooney choose the site for our first campaign stop?".

Over the weekend, 135 people were shot dead in the neighborhood, but none related to the Joe Biden appearance.

"Someone just shot out tire out!" yelled one of the staffers.

"Not to worry" said the Secret Service, "Just a random stray bullet, its' common place here. Oh well, just not enough of random bullets to do the job here, so it looks like we will have to have Joe visit the streets of Detroit next weekend."

Back in the late-80s I had to go to a Dupont Jobber in Garfield Park ( I can't remember if it was E or W GP) to deal with a QC problem with some automotive paint and it was a total shit-hole way back then.

Usually I stayed in the area overnight and flew out the next morning but since the motel booked for me looked like fuckin' Ft. Apache I flew out to St. Louis that night.

The bean-counters at my plant were not too happy about it but I told them if they were that bothered just bill me.....They backed off after the plant manager told them that he would not stay there either.
