It's the flag the Red army put on the Reichstag after taking Berlin, you probably thought the US marines did it.
It's a 1945 victory banner....Several were used.

Their former “National” anthem had a great tune. I first recall it from an old movie with Sean Connery. A submarine story. “The Hunt for Red October.”
 
The English translation is strong.....other than the Lenin and Stalin parts. ;)

Could it be, the Beatles take opening chord from "A Hard days night" song from the beginning of the USSR anthem? ;)
