President Assad on the talks:

"The Syrian president said members of the armed groups "should refuse from arms and receive the governmental amnesty."

Mysterious non-terrorist rebels declared they are willing to unite with the army as soon as the transition process begins. The Astana talks are not up to begin any kind of transition of power in Syria and the mysterious rebels declared they would fight terrorism independently in case no transition takes place. Currently, government and "opposition" do not directly talk but via Russian and Turkish proxies.
The SDF is angry because they are excluded from the talks. This is due to Russia´s friendly overtures towards Erdogan and the Turkish government, who claim the YPG, the basis of the SDF, is like ISIS and if they are invited to the talks, ISIS must be invited too.

The Syrian government rejected a Kurdish autonomy proposal issued by Russia, stressing local autonomy is subject to nationwide referendum and calling federalism crazy.
