Um, okay, I'm not sure how Israel or NATO could be happy about a Jihadist group taking over Syria.

Turkey is another matter; they are clearly looking to expand their influence. (And yes, technically, Turkey is part of NATO... the USELESS part of NATO.)

So the question is, what does HTS do? Do they run a fundamentalist regime? I think they saw how well that worked out for the Taliban, so I would say, No.

More likely, they will play at reconciliation and coalition government to try to get international recognition and aid.

The only question is, will the other players go along.

Right now, HTS does not control Damascus, the Syrian Free Army (US Backed) and Souther Operations Room does.

With luck, all these groups can sit down and form a coalition government.

If not, the civil war will resume.

The Turks probably just want Assad gone so they can send the 3.6 million Syrian refugees they are forced to support home.

Israel could take over Syria any time they wanted to. I'm critical of Israel, but their army is pretty good.

The problem here is the Ottomans there is a natural thing existed there for centuries. While Lawrence of Arabia was a tool of European imperial powers in their big games that didn't age well. The things are just returning to their natural state.

Well if we go back centuries there would be very few Countries in the world that are not in their natural state as you put it today, that includes Israel that has only been there since 1948.
