Revolutionary Guard member, ex-Iranian army sniper and terror suspect arrested in sweep of Iranian illegal migrants in the US
Immigration agents collared 11 Iranian illegal migrants over the weekend in eight states as the Border Patrol warned of âpossible sleeperâ cells in the US.
ICE agents arrested a former Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps member with suspected ties to Hezbollah, an ex Iranian army sniper and a terror watchlist suspect during a sweep of Iranian illegal migrants in the US over the weekend â as authorities raised warnings about possible âsleeper cells.â
In all, 11 Iranian illegal migrants, many of them with criminal records, were taken into custody, the Department of Homeland Security said on Tuesday.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement nabbed former IRGC Mehran Makari Sahel, who has âadmitted connectionsâ to the Iran-backed terrorist group Hezbollah, according to CBS News.

âUnder Secretary Noem, DHS has identified and arrested known or suspected terrorists and violent extremists that illegally entered this country, came in through [President Joe] Bidenâs fraudulent parole programs or otherwise,â DHS said in an X post Tuesday.
âWe have been saying we are getting the worst of the worst out â and we are. We donât wait until a military operation to execute; we proactively deliver on President Trumpâs mandate to secure the homeland,â DHS said.

Under the Biden administration, more than 700 Iranian migrants who crossed the border illegally were released into the US, according to Fox News.
CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott cited âIranâs hatred for the United States and their desire to harm America and Americansâ in Saturdayâs memo to border agents.
âOver the past four years, thousands of Iranian nationals have been documented entering the United States illegally and countless more were likely in the known and unknown got-a-ways,â Scott wrote.
âThough we have not received any specific credible threats to share with you all currently, the threat of sleeper cells or sympathizers acting on their own, or at the behest of Iran has never been higher,â he added.
Scott asked border agents âto remain hyper vigilant and continue to take appropriate precautions, while maintaining a heightened level of situational awareness both on and off-duty.â
Commentary:
In respect to the NYPost on providing incredibly important updates such as this. The current administration is doing what needs to be done to protect our Country and our citizens. Additionally they're regaining our Country's respect globally. The work the Trump administration is putting in is commendable. I respect their dedication to getting our Country back on track and doing so efficiently.
If there are sleeper cells imbedded in America they have been here since before Trump was reelected and Iran sent them here fully intending to use them when the time was right. (This itself would show they have already been at war with us.) I think people need to stop acting as if terrorists only react and are never proactive. They are not rabid dogs who will leave us alone if we just keep them happy and donât antagonize them.
Now, at least, hopefully any Iranian sleeper cells wonât have access to nukes in the future.
If anyone thinks the Mullahs Iranians are going to stop waving war against the U.S. or any of their perceived enemies they would, and eventually could be, dead wrong. These battles have been going on since, 700 AD. Nothing is off the table for them.
So we must still remain cautious and aware....
