I never heard of this guy until this morning:
Dr. Ravi Zacharias is one of Christianity’s foremost apologists. His ministry, Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, is based in Norcross, Georgia.
Zacharias views on the war are not very profound, but he said one thing that I found interesting:
The doctor fails to understand one thing about the people he preaches to:
Americans are a moral people in all things —— except when they are lying to sell something.
Zacharias is pushing a rock up a steep hill when he attacks lying for the wrong reason. Indeed, politicians, and clerics of every persuasion, selling moral behavior never ended a war, but they are pretty good at selling war. In today’s world, Islam’s mullahs, ayatollahs, imams, muftis, are the super-salesmen no matter what collar they wear.
The American people will never reject television and politicians so long as they are selling a product, a religion, a political cause, or anything else. Some might not buy a specific lie, but nobody rejects the technique or the tool.
Finally, the country is torn apart the minute media and politicians tell consumers they must do a thing because it is their moral duty. Socialism will kill this country as surely as Muslims kill people because the Socialist priesthood enforces the tax collector’s morality.
Bottom line: Clerics looking inside themselves will finally be onto something on the day they reconcile pure evil with lying to sell something.
