I am old enough to have taken a typing (on a manual typwriter) course in high school. We learned QUERTY then and all typewriters from my first Selectric electric typewriter to all the keyboards I have used over the years have been QUERTY.

Exactly!

And it is quite handy.
For the y is quite rare in German.
But the z is often used, also the tz.

Yes. windows has it already. Common keys on right hand and home bar. They Quit using it when it crashed too many manual keys due to too high typing speeds.

That's probably because most folks on USMB are in the U.S.
