What happens if someone in jail for murder in another country gets elected as president? Does he get diplomatic immunity so he can serve? Does he serve his office from jail? Does the next highest vote get elected in his stead?

Should a person on multiple death sentence for terrorism even be allowed to run? Arafat was not tried and convicted. Assad has not been tried and convicted. Mubarak was deposed before going on trial. Barghouti was not released when re-elected to the Palestinian Legislative Council.

This could be quite the political nightmare.
