I say go after the crooks who cost taxpayers money with corruption.
Instead of just complaining about billions here or trillion there in
corporate payoffs for political gain and private profit, track each
case, assess the total cost OWED back to taxpayers for unconstitutional
handouts or expenditures, waste and abuses, and **credit reimbursement**
back to taxpayers while charging the wrongdoers with paying back that debt
If the money can't be collected, then hold property and programs as collateral on the debt and REWARD taxpayers for investing and buying
out those debts, in exchange for owning "shares" in the collateral.
So we buy back our control of property and programs
from govt and corporate politics run amok. If the govt
wants control, the govt would have to collect back from the
wrongdoers to retain jurisdiction. If the people pay these costs,
we take back the programs and run them ourselves.
We can even issue "reserve notes" against the debts we're owed
from wrongdoing, and land held as collateral while the debts are being
settled and/or paid back over time, and use those "credits" to
manage and finance the work to rebuild community,
reform govt, and develop sustainable programs. The ideal would be for the programs to generate wealth, so the investment pays off in the longrun.
We all know it isn't sustainable to tax ourselves further and further in debt.
The question is what abuses and corruption have wasted tax money, who is responsible and what is the total cost of damages and debts per issue or incident, and what area of govt budgets and reforms could we cover by settling contested spending, collecting back credit owed, and applying those resources cost effectively to create programs that can run sustainably?
