This is exactly the skies I remember on Sept 11, 2001, when things changed here for good. I was in Centreville, VA when the first plane hit, and no one really believed it until the 2nd one hit. I ran up to the roof where I was working later on and we could see the smoke from the Pentagon. The sky was so beautiful, and I was getting ready for dove shooting on Saturday when the shtf. We are about 10 miles from Dulles airport, and it was so weird not seeing any commercial or private planes in the sky for some time.

I just got back from squirrel hunting, went into the kitchen to get a pot to soak them in and was told of a plane hitting the first tower. I didn't pay it much mind.

Went back to working up the squirrels and by the time I got back the second tower had been hit then everything started to unravel.

Yeah, it was weird not seeing anything but fast movers in the sky that evening.

Actually it's a bit more overcast here than it was that morning.

BTW...Squirrels are checking them out but have not started cutting the hickories yet....Give it another week.

I was buying a Dylan album @ Best Buy. I was in the parklot talking with a black guy and he said it was the World Trade Center and I was like no it was the Pentagon.

We both look at each other at the same time...startled and knew something was up.
