Does DuckDuckGo work for anything besides porn?

Yes, I am using it now and it is blocking the popups...

It seem it is Google that is allowing the popups and my advice is use duck duck go to block it.

Someone else is experiencing it on their Android. Is it AdBlock or AdBlock Plus? I'm using AdBlock Plus on Chromium (what Chrome is built on) but I'm also running Linux Kubuntu and I'm not seeing it at all.
Check to see if AdBlock has been disabled, if it has then you might have another extension that is turning it off. Disable all extensions, reenable AdBlock and see if that works. If it does you may need to enable each extension one at a time to find the culprit.

Slower? Interesting, I use it because of how fast it is, I do use Chrome for watching movies online, most legit movie sites don't like Chromium. It looks like either an extension or Chrome update is causing the problem.

Yeah, you can get it for Android.

adblock for android - Google Search

Though many claim uBlock may be a better alternative for Android.
