I don't get it. Isn't getting in life threatening situations their job?

If the cops think this guy is too dangerous for them to arrest, what does that say of his danger to the community?
They need to drag that bum out if they have to bulldoze the house!

I dunno Toob, cops are people too and they want to go back to their families when their shift is over. I can see why many of them have a problem with putting their live on the line when their leadership and the community at large doesn't appreciate them. And being understaffed and hamstrung by too many rules and regs and in many cases ill-trained does not help. I wouldn't want to be a cop in a big city if I were in my 20s.

Well too bad. They should have realized what they signed up for.

Well, I appreciate them, but I also appreciate that their job is to enforce the law and offhand, shooting your neighbor with a gun qualifies as breaking the law,
Can you imagine the crime if suddenly every unhinged person realized there'd be no consequences for rape, robbery and the like?
Also, I have worked dangerous jobs where a mistake could mean someone losing their life, maybe my own.
Police have gear they can wear, tactics, special weapons and numbers to deal with this.
If you are not going to do your job, you shouldn't have taken it in the first place.
I say this victim neighbor has as big a lawsuit against the police there as they do against the shooter.

They knew what the job was before they filled out the application

And if the cops don't have the stones to do whatever needs to be done concerning those who break any laws, my big question is what ends up happening to those who live to tell about filling in those empty blanks?

God bless you always!!!

Lol. This is in Minnesota, right? Send in Governor Tampon Tim to talk him out of the house. Send in Tim and a squad of the most prominent politicians and activists who have called for defunding the police.

No … going home alive at the end of the shift is their job.
Going home alive is also a concern for the guy selling popcorn at the theatre, but they are not the same job. Cops know the risks before they ever fill out the application. That's why they have so much training. If they weren't expected to take risks, they wouldn't have such extensive training and guns.
