Police officer is shot during raid in east London
This is the moment police cornered a man suspected of shooting a police officer after Scotland Yard's gang crime team launched an armed raid on a flat in east London.
Heavily armed police swarmed through Haggerston wearing helmets and carrying machine guns as the fleeing gunman ran amok through the residential streets after gunning down the officer.
The chaos prompted a full 'lockdown' of the area, with witnesses describing plain-clothed officers scrambling from the cars in an attempt to stop the suspect in his tracks.
Two plain clothed police officers were seen detaining a man sitting on the pavement close to the scene at around 1pm today.
Apparently, this thug didn't turn in his gun back during the confiscation.......
