Or the government can cut spending and retire the debt. That's what I did whenever I borrowed money for something. I cut spending on other things until I paid off the debt (and I'm still alive to tell the tale and still have all my fingers and toes). :up:

I do not believe Trump has the legal authority to do this unilaterally. The current Congress is NOT going to do it and I highly doubt the next one will either. Which doesn't leave many options; I suspect the gov't will try to monetize the debt one way or another and we'll end up with inflation that will be worse than it was before.

Most pension funds already hold a lot of U.S. debt.
 
"if", the Pension Funds are going to be backed by American Debt,.....Then they also will eventually become Worthless.
