I'd say it was MOSTLY peaceful except that the armed gangs who don't want to participate.
I guess the answer for them is Prison??? but wont that be upsetting to those who say there are more blacks in prison because of racism? Seesm to be the same old problem here.... they were offered peace, and not only rejected it but had no problem shooting someone elses mother or sister. Seriously... should they be given prison or let right out agian when they will once more shoot someone elses Mother or sister?

I'm not for this sentiment. No, I'm not for thinking we'd be better off if more people die...... The truth is, having lived in areas with lots of black people, the majority of them are good. The problem is gangs have a long leash because they know nothing will really happen to them. Furthermore, the black culture in these areas is weakened to the point they cannot police themselves. Every gang member is someones son, brother, cousin, father or uncle..and no one wants to turn in their own and there is not enough accountability because of that... and people will say they are just doing what they are doing because they have to "eat"

Thinking about this makes me wonder, how did we ever clean up the towns of the old west when gunslingers ruled the streets and cattle rustlers terrorized ranchers? Simple, they were made to know that they were not wanted.. and that there was no place for them in town. This will never happen in todays cities so my solution would be not prison but some sort of penal colony possible somewhere in the artic circle. Anyone convicted of gang activities... be sent packing with a stack of firewood and axe and a survival manual.. They would live in a place where they needed to learn to get along to survive or die. Doesnt matter the race of the perpetrators..send them all. It would probably be horrific for the first ten years or so but afterwards there would be very few people ever joing gangs AGAIN.
Not only would our prisons empty out but no one would ever hear form these people. there would be no more street cred.. no more recruitment from prison.

I brought this up a few years ago. But folks didn't seem to like the idea then. Personally, I still think it's a great idea. But who the hell am I. Just an ex working class stiff, who would like to see people in prison better themselves. And those that can't/won't be rehabilitated never see the light of a "free" day ever again. Regardless of their crime.
