Americans and doctors have a terrible record for drug addiction and "cures". Over a century ago, a poorly tested, highly addictive drug called Heroin was presented to cure to Morphine addiction. Over a century later we are still dealing with the scourge of Heroin, plus new even more deadly drugs like Fentanyl and Tranq. Who knows what the answer is, but here is an interesting look back at various drugs and how they took hold in the US.
