A progressive strategist called out former President Barack Obama on Thursday for making the Democratic Party cater to elites in society and abandoning the working class.

In a report from "The Hill" about progressive lawmakers’ "existential crisis" following the 2024 election of President-elect Donald Trump, the outlet spoke to the anonymous strategist who advised the party to reclaim the populism it allegedly abandoned.

"I don’t know exactly when Democrats lost their comfort with populism, but I don’t think it was because Trump picked it up," the person told the outlet, pointing to this happening under Obama.

An anonymous Democratic strategist blamed former President Obama for shifting the party towards elites and losing touch with working-class Americans.

Trump's economy was much better than Obama's or Biden's. Trump's presidency was free of wars in Ukraine and between Israel and Hamas. Not so with the Democrats.

Trump's economy was in the tank in 2020 with 14% UE and a WWII since law in jobs created.

It was better and it is going to get even better very soon. Increased energy production and increased economic growth will increase tax revenue. The only way out of the debt is to grow our way out. Of course, spending will have to be cut too- that's where DOGE comes in...

And, Trump will try to walk us back from Biden's mad dash towards WWIII.

Obama and Biden were absolute failures at being a war president. No argument there but energy producers are not going to over produce no matter how much you think they will.

But again, we were discussing the economy of Trump. It was the same as the Obama economy. Pumping and debt.
