The rhetoric of Leftists about January 6th always omits what they think was the objective of the riots. They speak of an "overthrow" of the government, and yet what is that, exactly? Do they think that the rioters wanted to install Trump as a permanent, lifetime President?

They don't actually say it because to say it out loud exposes how ridiculous it is.

The rioters wanted to delay certification of the election until such time as the known irregularities could be checked out...and not THROWN out by judges too timid to risk another Bush-Gore debacle.

To date there has still not been a single meaningful audit of the results in the venues where the most unlikely results were recorded. And for the record, an audit is not simply re-counting the ballots. And "audit" would be to randomly select a thousand ballots, identify who cast them, and speak to the people to confirm that they exist and freely cast those ballots, in person or otherwise legally. In this first-ever election where mail-in ballots were allowed, that is the LEAST that should have been done to satisfy Americans who wanted assurance that the election hadn't been compromised.
