This is such a bad idea. Can they really be so obtuse that they think they'll be the only ones who ever use those backdoors? Or do they really not care how many thieves and spies get access to our computers, as long as they have the first go at it?

They've already been doing that. I no longer trust any US based IT company (when it comes to privacy and stuff like that), and I suspect I'm not the only one.
A privacy is something forgotten.

One more thing. Do we really want to trust those agencies that have already proven themselves to be untrustworthy? Thank you Edward Snowden, wherever you are.
