Newsmax Woos Tucker Carlson

The non compete clause does not apply in this situation.
He is under contract to NewsCorp! For 2 more years!

Holy shit. Republicans can never again claim to be the Party of Business. They clearly don't have a fucking clue.

Do you really think Fox is going to pay Carlson his contract salary for two years? No. They are going to claim that statements, texts and emails violated contract provisions, causing the contract to fail and he was fired for cause.

As far as I know, not voided, but possibly voidable, but with a court fight.
If the contract is not broken Fox is under contract to pay Carlson his full salary. There is no such thing as a standing contract to benefit only one side.

This is why Fox is engaging in such character assassination. They know Carlson's career cannot be affected any other way.

He is being paid, but they have no obligation to put him on the air. While under contract, he can do his private podcasts, but not likely go on air for a competitor.

As long as he's paid. Fully paid. But they won't continue to do that. They are making a for cause separation.

We don't know if he can even do that. Rupert isn't the type to let people go rogue if he's not the one benefiting from it.
