No more surprise onside kicks. Most onside kicks are unsuccessful by a wide margin, but now the kicker is 25 yards behind the offensive line, which is on the opponents 40 yd line. They can't move until the return man touches the ball.

This rule will make the game more exciting, as most kickoffs are not returned.

kinda makes an on side kick impossible.
 
I like it but beer retrieval/bathroom breaks will be cut short. ;)

I suspect it will save money on kickers too since you don't need someone with enough leg to kick it into the endzone.....Damn near anyone will be able to reach the "landing zone".

All they really had to do was move the kicking team back.
 
This is long over due. I remember back in the days where more onside kicks were successful. The nfl was better than. The worst thing they did was neuter the onside kick.
